Roger Ward Memorial Award Operation Barnabas

TK presents the Roger Ward Memorial Award to Pastor Randy Haulk on behalf of the Meyersdale Church

Each year, Operation Barnabas leaders and staff select an individual, group, or church to receive an award named in honor of Roger Ward (Grace Brethren Church, Norwalk, California). While the students on OB are being trained in what it means to be “a son or daughter of encouragement”, there are people who far out-serve the teams with their kindness and generosity.

Back in the summer of 1979, Roger Ward showed himself to be one of those people. He gave his own personal vehicle, supplied fuel for the vehicle, and was continually helping the team that year. After his home-going due to an accident at his business, CE National named this service award after Roger in honor of a life devoted to serving others more than self.

CE National is pleased to announce the 2019 Roger Ward Memorial Award is presented to the Meyersdale Grace Brethren Church in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania, for their gracious demonstration of servanthood to one of our OB teams.

Timothy Kurtaneck, the director of Operation Barnabas, had this to say about why MGBC was chosen as our Roger Ward Memorial Award recipient for 2019. “Meyersdale Grace Brethren Church has long been a ministry partner with CE National and Operation Barnabas teams. This past summer the church met a very specific need by supplying their church van for use by the OB East team. Operation Barnabas is grateful for the church and leaders and praise God for them!”

OB thanks you, Pastor Randy Haulk and Meyersdale Grace Brethren Church, for loving, serving, and demonstrating a real spirit of servant leadership to our Operation Barnabas teams!
