CE National is pleased to announce that the MidWest Operation Barnabas team for 2016 will be shepherded by Pastor David Nicodemus, communications pastor at Grace Polaris in Westerville, Ohio.

Dave and his wife Carly come to us from Columbus, Ohio, where Dave has served on the Grace Polaris staff for the past 8 1/2 years. Originally from Martinsburg, Pennsylvania, Dave is very familiar with Operation Barnabas. He participated as a high school student in 1995, and as a leader in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003.

Carly grew up in Warsaw, Indiana, and was introduced to OB when she served as a leader in 2003. Dave and Carly met while students at Grace College and have been married for 12 years. Together they’ve had the opportunity to lead short-term teams of OB alumni during the 2004 (Beyond, in Inner-city Philadelphia) and 2010 (OBI, in Boracay, Philippines) summers.

Dave might be familiar to many as the better half (according to Dave) of “Mark and Dave” from Momentum Youth Conference and Carly is known to many youth workers as the Momentum registrar. They are proud parents of four children, Jack (9), Henry (7), Emilia (4), and Charlie (2). Dave and Carly are excited to serve together and invest in the lives of students this summer while getting to involve their whole family in this life-changing discipleship process.

Timothy Kurtaneck, the Director of Operation Barnabas and leader of the 2016 OB East team, said, “I am thrilled that Dave and Carly Nicodemus will be leading one of the Operation Barnabas teams this summer. They have had great training, have experience in ministry, and understand how to equip young people and lead a team. The students that get to be a part of their group are going to love being with them for this summer ministry training experience!”

OB 2016 is June 20 – July 11 and will begin with orientation in Winona Lake, Indiana, before teams deploy to Ohio and Pennsylvania. Applications and further information are available at operationbarnabas.net.
