Operation Barnabas Summer Ministry ExperienceEach fall, after students have returned from spending time during the summer on Operation Barnabas teams, OB parents are sent a survey. We ask them to make any suggestions or comments that would be helpful for us to know as we continue the ministry. We also ask parents to share any positive changes they’ve seen in their child now that the student is back home.

Here are a few comments from this year’s families about their OB experience and what has been happening since their student went on OB 2019!

What an amazing program you provide!  Our son is very involved in youth activities at church. He has been sharing and teaching younger kids and is looking for ways to share his faith. It has also helped his sense of discipline and time management.

Our daughter is more willing to serve both here at home and at church. She is also more comfortable speaking in front of people, which is a great skill that will serve her well in the future! I think this experience has been so beneficial to her; one that will have long-lasting benefits!

We are so thankful for everyone that continues to make OB happen year-after-year. It has had a huge impact on our son and I know his life isn’t the same because of it. He is so fired up for ministry and is always seeking more opportunities to serve and share Jesus. I also see more of a focus on his personal relationship with God. Thanks! Don’t grow weary in doing good.

The first phone call home from tour, we could tell our daughter had already gone through some definite changes. She has been a Christian for a long time, but the Lord really got a hold of her heart on OB. She has really opened up to the Lord, letting Him lead her and not be afraid of sharing.  She shows more appreciation and kindness now and has been very helpful. Her leaders were so loving and good for her too. I can’t say enough about her experience; we as parents loved everything that you did and wouldn’t change a thing. Wow, what an amazing gift that you all gave to our kids. They will never forget it.

OB 2020 teams will serve in the Mideast states June 13–July 6 and in California June 20–July 13. Students who apply by the early deadline of November 20, 2019 have the best chance of getting their team preference. Check out OperationBarnabas.net for more information and the online application!
