Sebastian Bosi, the intern at the Urban Hope Training Center and Community Church is starting a martial arts ministry here at Urban Hope for teens and adults. The class will consist of mostly grappling (martial arts, wrestling, and judo).

This class is a great and healthy way to exercise, learn a martial art, and hear God’s Word. The class will meet twice a week for about an hour. At the end of the class session a verse of scripture will be shared from the Bible.

First and foremost, this ministry’s main purpose is to give the gospel to the community here at Urban Hope. Staying for the scripture reading is going to be a requirement of the class. It has been an immense blessing that God is allowing us to start a ministry like this; but there are still some things that we need before we can truly start:

  • A mat between the size of 10′ x 15′ to 20′ x 20′
  • Athletic Mat Cleaner
  • First Aid kit
  • Funds for Rash Guards and Mouth Pieces for students

Any kind of assistance or donation that can be provided in any form will be greatly appreciated. “God has given me the opportunity to be able to train in martial arts and the ability to teach it, said Sabastian,”and there would be nothing that would give me more joy than to glorify Him through it.”

If anyone would like to ask any more questions about the ministry, they can contact Sebastian at sebastian@urbanhope.net.
