Students who apply for Operation Barnabas are not always sure exactly what OB is all about or how it can have a major effect on how they think, even for the rest of their lives! One of our 2018 alum shares how three weeks last summer has impacted her…
Coming into Operation Barnabas I didn’t know what to expect. I was excited but also very nervous as to what the next three weeks had in store for me. I had no idea that my entire outlook on life, love, and especially ministry was about to be radically changed.
I soon found myself in an environment of love and encouragement. The leaders set a strong example and trained us all up in the ways of a servant of God. As I began to learn how to serve, my love for God and others grew to greater depths than ever before. I learned to stop focusing on myself so I can minister to those around me. There were many obstacles and some rough days when I honestly just wanted to go home, but I’ve learned to trust God and move forward with Him despite my circumstances and emotions. Through Operation Barnabas, my desire for God has greatly grown and a newfound love for ministry has sprung in my heart. I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity I had to serve on OB and for the leaders whom God used to impact my heart.
Now is the time for students to apply for this life-changing three week ministry experience. Operation Barnabas applications are online at operationbarnabas.net and the early application deadline is November 14, 2018.
