Hayden Troyer talks about Operation Barnabas Summer Ministry Experience

Hayden Troyer

The ministry of Operation Barnabas not only benefits the students who participate, but also the churches and youth ministries that send them on this three-week ministry training experience. We received the following comments last week from a church that has had multiple students through the years participate on Operation Barnabas teams.

I absolutely love Operation Barnabas, and that our students are continually interested in going. I was so stinking proud of our two students when they came back from OB 2019. At our church, we have a local ministry where we go to a park and just hang out and play games with people in the neighborhood. Part of what we do is we walk around the neighborhood and knock on doors and invite people. Before one of our girls went on OB, she absolutely hated doing that. I mean, she would fight tooth and nail to avoid going. Now, that’s her favorite part of the ministry! And our other OB participant this summer-my goodness, she just exploded and is on fire for the Lord, and it’s just so awesome to see!  Like I said, I’m just so proud of them both.

Operation Barnabas is a great way for students to get three weeks of hands on equipping and then come home and put it into practice in their local church and youth group. We are thankful for churches who see the value in this type of youth ministry training experience and send students to serve on OB teams.

Now is the time for students to apply for OB 2020. The online application is available at apply.operationbarnabas.net  and the preliminary application deadline is November 20, 2019!
