The Urban Hope Strategy

Strategy

On the far left are ways teams connect with people in the neighborhood. Often times this is done by visiting groups or by the outreach programs of Urban Hope Community Church.

To the right of that on the chart, is the Sunday Celebration. This is the time where people are encouraged to take their first step in learning about Christianity. Sunday mornings are designed to be motivational to include praise, spiritual challenges, testimonies, and opportunities to follow Christ. The Sunday mornings also include public testimonies through Baptism, Communion and more.

The next step after Sunday morning service would be the House Church. This is a small group setting with relational Bible teaching based on discussion of the Sunday morning sermon. During that time there is prayer, praise, a focus on who people need to accept Christ and Bible study. Accountability comes at the end of each house church time. Each person is challenged to walk with God and complete projects during the week.

The Antioch School is a Bible training program to develop leaders. This begins with the First Principles courses and leads to BILD (Bible Institute in Leadership Development). For a minimal amount credit can be applied toward a bachelors or masters level of education and includes Bible training, spiritual gift assessments, and regular projects to help believers grow in knowledge, character, and service.

Servant Leadereship is the goal for those believers who want to go deeper with the Lord. Leadership is not something done by popularity but given to people who are truely serving the Lord. If they are sharing their faith, if they are living consistent Christian lives and if they are making an impact in others they will 'rise to the top' and be chosen as leaders of the ministry. Servant Leaders will be given strong leadership opportunities to oversee different aspects of evangelism and discipleship. The goal is to develop a team with a plurality of leaders.
