Among today’s society, some churches give ideas to help reach and disciple people, while other churches are losing the Truth of the Word.

What has been labeled as “The Emergent Church” continues to be a growing topic of discussion because it contains both strengths and weaknesses.

But, in an attempt to be cutting edge, many in the Emergent Church movement are losing the Truth of the Word.

Believers and church leaders must always teach the “whole counsel of God.” Truth is the basis for our faith. While methods and trends change, we must never lose truth. While we want to be culturally relevant, if we “water down” the truth of the Word, we’ve lost the battle.

In this Fireside Dialogue, Dr. Mark Soto will discuss the Emergent Church.

Mark is a professor of Biblical studies at Grace Theological Seminary in Winona Lake, Indiana. He has had 12 years of experience in the pastoral ministry as well as serving as a counselor for a Christian residential childcare facility.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Theology degree from Appalachian Bible College and a Master of Arts in Religion from Liberty University. He also has a Master of Divinity, a Master of Theology and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Grace Theological Seminary.
