Handing Children a Love for Jesus--National Children's Sunday

Children's Sunday

The Children’s Cabinet of the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches would like to encourage each church to have a Children’s Sunday every year to honor children’s staff and the children in their congregation. Donna Yost, Dir. Of Children and Women's Ministries at Grace Brethren Church, Wooster, Ohio, helps put the Children's Sunday materials together each year. To get the resources to do a Children's Sunday in your church, go to the Children's Sunday Page on the CE National website.

Grace Brethren Influence Continues Outside the Fellowship

Retreat Group

Dan Cosentino grew up in Palmyra, Pennsylvania, where his dad, Joe, served as pastor of the Grace Brethren Church there. Dan was involved in many CE National programs including Bible Quizzing, Momentum youth conference, Operation Barnabas, and many district events.

After graduation from high school, Dan went to Lancaster Bible College and while there, served on the youth staff at the Willow Valley, Pa., Grace Brethren Church. Following graduation he accepted the position of youth pastor at the First Christian Church in Kendallville, Ind. The church is a strong, Bible teaching church pastored by Pastor Tom Clothier.

Even though it is a church not connected directly with the Grace Brethren Fellowship, Dan, Pastor Tom, and the people are happy to partner together in CE National ministries. This summer they hope to have an Operation Barnabas team at their church and participate in Momentum. It was great that Timothy Kurtaneck, Director of Church Relations & Youth Leadership Training at CE National, could be the speaker at their recent youth retreat.

About 40 people gathered at Camp Lakewood in Northeast Indiana for a great weekend of fun, games, sledding, relationship-building and focusing on God’s Word. Other than a couple minor bumps and bruises from the sledding, it was a terrific and memorable weekend. Read more and see pictures...

For the past several years, many of the pictures of youth conference you see on the Momentum website and in print have been taken by Janine Russell. Her eye and camera lens do a wonderful job of capturing the essence of Momentum youth conference.

Each week, the group "Impressed By Your Beauty", on the photo sharing website Flickr, chooses an artist to spotlight. Last week, Janine was featured in an interview. Her faith in God came through as she shared her testimony.

Janine's husband, Dennis, is a member of the CE National Board of Directors. They attend Grace Community Chapel in Mukilteo, Washington.

412 Students Prepare for Valentine's Church Outreach

The 412 Commission students spent yesterday (February 13) preparing for Grace Community Church's annual Valentine's Day Hershey Hand-Out Blitz. 7,750 ounces of chocolate will be given out today by people from that church. This blitz, and others that Grace Community does, always reflects a positive image of the church and of the Lord. Some of the events the church does are for sowing seeds, others for watering the soil, and others for harvesting. Read more and see pictures...
