Grace Space: Connecting Kids to the Creator of the Universe

The tentative theme for Children's Sunday 2009 is "Grace Space: Connecting Kids to the Creator of the Universe." Taken from Philippians 2:15b & 16a, the theme encourages kids to "Shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life..." Special thanks to Donna Yost, Director of Children's Ministries at the Grace Brethren Church in Wooster, Ohio, for making Children's Sunday materials available to our churches. Donna is also on CE National's Children's Cabinet.

Give 10% of Your Time to the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches

Often, a new local church staff person is encouraged to participate in networking with other churches. Why not especially network with the FGBC family? Recently, Grace Chapel, Minerva, Ohio, searched for an individual to serve as their youth pastor. After the candidate interviewed with the church leadership, Wayne Ayer, Lead Pastor, called CE National to ask if Ed Lewis would serve as a reference for the new staff position. When asked about this, Ed, CE National's Executive Director, said, "How can we do that since we do not even know the person you are considering?" Read more...

Gift Given in Memory of Operation Barnabas Alumna

Recently, CE National received this letter along with a gift for Operation Barnabas.

Dear Operation Barnabas:

Please accept this check to help in whatever way as Operation Barnabas prepares to go out this summer. We are sending this in memory of our friend Dana Holland Sumpter, who died January 30 of this year. Dana was a part of Operation Barnabas and loved young people. I know she would be excited to support Operation Barnabas in teaching kids to love and serve God.

Sincerely,

Kevin and Ruthann Smith

CE National offers condolences to the Holland and Sumpter families at the home going of Dana. We are grateful for the thought and generosity of this financial gift which will be used in the two Mexico outreaches by Operation Barnabas teams this summer. Dana served on the 1983 Operation Barnabas team.

Meet the Operation Barnabas Leaders

Jacinda Gillette, Amy Kendrick, and Sarah Knepper are three of the 14 leaders ministering on Operation Barnabas this summer. Read more about them and the other leaders at www.operationbarnabas.net.

OB Leader Jacinda Gillette went on Operation Barnabas as a student in 2003. Ever since it has been her dream to participate in OB as a leader and to pour into the lives of teens the way she was discipled.
OB Leader Amy Kendrick is very passionate about youth and loves to see them grow in the Lord. This will be her fourth time leading Operation Barnabas.
OB Leader Sarah Knepper went on Operation Barnabas as a student but this will be her fourth experience leading an OB team. Barnabas has been one of the most life changing experiences of Sarah's life, and she can't wait to share that with the students this summer!
