Please Pray For Momentum East |

Francis Chan,
Praying During A Main Session
|
As the time draws closer to the July 21-27 event in Cedarville, Ohio, we covet your prayers that God will allow our students to learn how to apply Micah 6:8. The iCARE theme emphasizes God's requirement for those who are genuine believers--to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God.
The conference will begin with a challenge by Francis Chan and will include many key speakers, musicians, and seminars. The purpose of Momentum youth conference is for building godly character in today's generation. Read more...

Continue to Pray for the Homeless |
Pray for the homeless who accepted Christ during the WowJam event at Skid Row in Los Angeles two weeks ago. Over 900 accepted the Lord and many were baptized on the Saturday following Momentum West. They were transported to Santa Monica where they were baptized in the ocean. WowJam rented the parking lot by the Santa Monica pier for the service.
"What an awesome week! 924 people accepted Jesus Christ! Thank you for your partnership in reaching the lost at Skid Row! I pray our paths will cross again to further the Kingdom of God". The Wow Team.
WowJam was the huge, outreach carnival for the homeless in which Momentum West attendees participated. Go to the Momentum West Reports site to find out more.

Weekly Day Camps Continue At Urban Hope |
Keep praying for the children who are being impacted by Day Camp Weeks at the Urban Hope Training Center in Philadelphia, Penn. Every day the students have incredible opportunities to spend hours learning of Christ, playing games, and interacting with Christian young people.
Who leads these day camps besides the Urban Hope staff members? Youth groups come from various churches each week and arrive on Sunday evening to be trained in relating in an urban culture. Between 40-60 young people come for one of the three weeks of day camps and are exposed to the opportunities in the inner city. They stay at the Urban Hope dormitories, eat meals in the city, and have opportunities to share Christ with many lost children in Philadelphia.
Recently, Ed Lewis spoke Sunday morning at the Urban Hope Community Church. He was, again, impressed with the many people being impacted by the team of people who make up the Urban Hope staff. This summer there are also five students working as interns receiving urban training experiences.

Continental Team Hits The Papers |
The first stop for the Continental Team was Grace Church or Orange in Orange, Calif.
The Operation Barnabas team joined 70 members of the church in helping members of the community and the Orange County Register picked up the story.

Even Non-FGBC Churches Appreciate OB |

The Continental Team
Dear CE National,
As a youth pastor from a non-denominational church, First Christian Church in Kendallville, Indiana, our students and congregation had no clue what to expect from an Operation Barnabas team. I cannot explain to you how encouraged and how many compliments I received from people young and old alike! Your students were such a blessing to our people.
When our church knew that we would be receiving an Operation Barnabas team we decided to try and plan something that we knew we could not do without your help, and most importantly God’s help. We planned a huge one day event called "Celebrating God and Country" that was aimed at reaching families in the community to have them come to our church, have fun, and hear the gospel message. We saw approximately 750+ people attend this event, and we had five different Operation Barnabas programs on Saturday afternoon alone. What was also neat was that we saw many different people who attended the events on Saturday, be at our church and worship with us on Sunday!
In an age where many churches and communities have a stigma that young people are rebellious and create problems it’s refreshing to know that there is a program where students can be trained to better serve their community and God.
Many of our students are now looking forward to Momentum, and many are now interested in participating in an Operation Barnabas team in the upcoming years. Your students made a difference and an impact that will change the lives of many in Kendallville for years. As I tell my students; "Never underestimate what God can and will do!" Thank you for being such a blessing to us!
In His Matchless Grace,
Pastor Daniel Cosentino
