Telling Stories in Dallas Center, Iowa

Operation Barnabas
The Halftime Cabinet in Iowa

Telling stories, encouraging people, and coming alongside the church people to trim shrubs best describes the events of the Halftime ministry in Dallas Center, Iowa. "Life" is not won or lost in Halftime. Like a game of football, the end of the game is what counts. People may have done well in the first half of life, but will believers end well? Each year Operation Barnabas leaders and staff select a person to receive the Olszewski Memorial Scholarship. This person is one who has modeled servanthood through attitude and actions during our summer tour.

The award is named after Mr. and Mrs. Walter Olszewski, much beloved and respected volunteers at CE National. For over a decade they served faithfully in the CE National production area. The O’s modeled the Biblical concept of servanthood and children and young people held a special place in their hearts.

This year there were two recipients of the Olszewski Memorial Scholarship, Madison Christian and Lindsay Devereaux. Read more...

Cambodian Outreach Weekend at Urban Hope

This weekend (September 14 – 16) is Urban Hope's annual Cambodian Weekend. The staff will be focusing on spending time in the Cambodian section of South Philly.

In the past they have spent a great deal of time there building relationships with the people, learning the culture, and sharing Jesus.

Pray for this weekend as some of the team members and Urban Hope volunteers seek to serve the people in this community. In addition, the team is excited to have a group of ten people joining them from the Waldorf Grace Brethren Church. Pray for the group that it would be a meaningful time of ministry and full of opportunities to serve and share Jesus.
