Urban Hope Community Church Launches Weekly Services

Urban Hope

Nine years ago, Ed Lewis got a call from Evelyn Tyson. The Third Brethren Church in downtown Philadelphia was closing, and Evelyn asked Ed if CE National could use the buildings. At the time, CE National was looking at Chicago for an urban ministry training center. But with the offer of the Third Brethren's buildings in Philadelphia, God seemed to be pointing CE National to the east and the Urban Hope Training Center was born. Read more...

Children's Director at Hope Community

Jon Rauch, Children's Pastor at Grace Community Church in Goshen, Indiana, is leading the National Children's Cabinet trip to North Carolina this weekend. Children's staff from various churches will be joining Jon to observe Hope Community Church in Raleigh, NC.

It is no secret that the children's ministry at Hope Community Church is a tremendous model of an effective way to reach and disciple children. The cabinet will meet with Laura Lee, Pastor Mike Lee's wife and director of the children's program, and her staff.

During the trip, the Children's Cabinet will discuss ways to help children's ministries in other churches, stimulated by what they observe. These ideas will be passed to other churches through writings, round-table discussions, seminars, etc.

See You At the Pole Stories

See You at the Pole saw students from around the world gather at their school's flag pole to pray. Keith Gregory, SYATP organizer for Indian Spring Middle School in Columbia City, Indiana sums it up when he says, "There is nothing like hearing students pray!!"

Central Cambria High School in Ebensburb, Pennsylvania had 5 high school students around the high school flag pole when one courageous middle schooler joined them.

Five Secrets to Motivating Teachers

What can you do to keep the teachers you've recruited? Quality teachers don't just evolve, nor do they come to our programs fully trained. To retain quality teachers, you have to commit yourself to work on that end.

CE National Celebrates a Wonderful Year

Art BushenArt Bushen,
Grounds and Maintenance

Last Friday, the CE National staff and family gathered at the Russell Center to flip steaks on the grill and enjoy fellowship outside of normal business hours. One reason to celebrate was because of how God has blessed the ministries of CE National. We rejoice that God has answered so many prayers for the year. October 1 begins the new fiscal year for CE National, which allows us to reflect on our programs, finances, purpose, and vision.

We rejoice that, once again, CE National will finish the year in the "black." This is a praise because of the many challenges CE National has faced during the year, including new facilities, Momentum youth conference changes, thousands of miles traveled by so many people, and more. See pictures of staff and friends at the steak fry...
