Momentum 2008, Ministry With a Purpose

Momentum 2008 Logo

CE National is excited about the two Momentum conferences scheduled for this coming summer. Cedarville University will be home to Momentum East, with Francis Chan as one of the invited speakers. Also coming is David Nasser and the worship music of Steve Fee and his band.

A big part of Momentum East will be two huge outreach carnivals, one in Dayton, Ohio, and the other in Columbus, Ohio, sponsored by Convoy of Hope. These carnivals are designed to work with local churches to distribute food, give free haircuts, do dental checkups, run children's games, and offer special prayer through a prayer tent. Both of these events will allow students to serve those who don't know Christ.

Momentum West is scheduled for Southern California. Attendees will enjoy the worship music of Todd Proctor and the option to spend at least two days doing ministry during the week, such as an overnight mission trip to Mexico or ministering to the homeless, Muslims, or inner-city youth in San Diego. For those who do not wish to take advantage of this two-day opportunity, challenging programming will be available, and students can choose to stay on campus during the entire week. This combination of a youth conference and a ministry trip is similar to the service-oriented approach used at Momentum 2007 in Mississippi. Find out more at www.buildmomentum.org.

Please prayfor the West Coast Planning Committee, meeting in San Diego early next week, as they finalize the location of Momentum West.

CE National Board Meetings

CE National Board
The CE National Board of Directors

CE National is privileged to have a group of pastors, business people, and church leaders who help to establish policies and affirm the direction taken by CE National. This Friday and Saturday the board will meet at the Russell Center to discuss areas like budget and master plan initiatives. The board also will receive program updates and pray with members of the CE National staff.

CE National Board meetings take place twice a year. The meeting in November is always at CE National's headquarters and the spring (May) meeting is in the vicinity of a model church to allow board members an opportunity to experience ways churches are successfully penetrating the culture.

The purpose of CE National is to impact the church by serving as a catalyst for biblically accurate and culturally relevant ministries to children, youth, and adults.

Student Reports From the First OB Ministry Reunion

OB

Thirty-seven individuals who participated on Operation Barnabas 2007 met at the Urban Hope Training Center in Philadelphia this past weekend for the very first OB Ministry Reunion.

Samantha, from Marysville, Ohio, talks about her experience with the Operation Barnabas reunion.

Last weekend I had the pleasure of being reunited with old friends, ministering to a community in need, and growing even more in my walk with God—all through CE National’s first ever, sponsored Operation Barnabas reunion, held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at Urban Hope. Well worth the small cost and lengthy bus ride, the event plunged me into experiences that I wouldn’t dream of giving up for the sake of other weekend plans. Read more and see pictures...

So You Think You Have Your Estate in Order?

A couple of months ago, I advised that (1) you need a Will/Trust and (2), you need a Power of Attorney!

So first we created an Estate Planning Inventory to allow you to go through all your assets and determine an estate value in preparation for writing a Will/Trust.

Then we talked about the purpose of a Power of Attorney, how long it stays in effect, and all the particulars about a POA.

Now that you have the Estate Planning Inventory completed, how do you go about creating the Will? This important document will become a legal declaration of your desires concerning the manner in which you would have your property disposed of after your death. Read more...
