The 412 Commission students have completed their class work with Moody Bible Institute. Graduation ceremonies were last Friday at the Akron, Ohio, Grace Brethren Church South Campus. Parents, relatives, friends, host families and church staff came together to celebrate the event. The evening culminated with hearing testimonies from all of the students and a commissioning service prior to their going into internships.

CE National Expresses Sympathies to Falwell Family

CE National expresses our Christian sympathies to the family of Jerry Falwell and to the staff of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Momentum youth conference (formerly BNYC) was held at Liberty University in 1994, 1999 and 2003. Dr. Falwell would welcome our youth conference to Liberty each year and would speak to our staff during staff meetings. Ed Lewis, Executive Director of CE National, says, "The evangelical world has lost a great leader, and we will certainly miss him."

GulfCoast Work Teams

Youth leaders can now sign their groups up for work team projects happening at this summer’s Momentum conference in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Leaders can pick from four options in two towns, Gulfport and Pearlington, MS. In both towns, a daily work team will help with projects like painting, dry walling, post hole digging, and general clean up at local residences.

Also, through Convoy of Hope, both towns will host food distribution days where teams will unload, sort, bag, and hand out groceries to area families and pray with them.

For more information and/or to sign your group up, visit the Momentum website, www.buildmomentum.org, and click on the Gulf Coast Work Teams icon on the home page. Projects will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Ezra Allen Yauger is Born While Dad Fights Cancer

Ezra Allen Yauger
Ezra Allen

Rich Yauger is a dad! He and his wife, Carol, had a boy. Rich reports, “Our baby was born on May 3rd. It was a boy, 7 pounds, 8 ounces, 21 inches long. We named him Ezra Allen. I think he's the cutest baby ever, but of course, I'm a bit biased. Carol is doing well. The labor was a tough one, but she was pretty amazing through it all. It was pretty crazy because I was receiving a treatment while she was in the beginning stages of labor. So, she's having contractions like every 8 to 10 minutes, and I'm getting chemotherapy. We were quite the pair!“

Please continue to pray for Rich as he undergoes treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Rich is Youth Pastor at Grace Community Church in Goshen, Indiana and a National Institute professor.

Goshen Group Answers an Urban Call for Help

12-15 men and women from Grace Community Church in Goshen, Indiana, will be taking off from work for a week to help with a major project at the Urban Hope Training Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They will be replacing two furnaces and renovating two bathrooms. This project has been needed for the last two years. The heat in the former church building is a problem each winter as the furnace continues to deteriorate.

CE National is very thankful for the willingness of the group from Goshen to totally replace the furnace and air conditioning. At the same time they will renovate the bathrooms at the youth center.

Art Bushen, CE National's Grounds and Maintenance Manager will be joining the group.
