A Conference Combined With a Mission Trip

Momentum 2007 Logo

Many people have forgotten that the effects of Hurricane Katrina are still being felt in the Gulfport, Mississippi, area. Every student who comes to Momentum will have the opportunity to go to Gulfport to help with the recovery efforts.

That’s the main reason we choose the University of Southern Mississippi, about 60 miles north of Gulfport, for our conference location. The programming on campus will serve as our “base” to:

  • Allow God to continually makeover our hearts to be closer to His intended design, emphasized in the theme Xtreme Makeover: Heart Edition (2 Cor. 5:17).
  • Send ministry/ work project teams out each afternoon to the Gulfport area to encourage them with makeover projects in their community;
  • Build momentum for ministry in your local church when your group returns home after conference.

Learn more about this exciting opportunity to make a different through Gulfport Work Teams by visiting the Momentum website, www.buildmomentum.org, and clicking the work team icon.

Sponsor a Week At Urban Hope

We are looking for 52 individuals, couples, families, or groups who will financially sponsor the Urban Hope Training Center for 1 week a year.

As we have evaluated our ministry to the inner city, we now know what it costs to operate a ministry in a low-income community, and there is a need for funds each week to keep this ministry in operation.

Would you be willing to sponsor a week of the Urban Hope ministry at the cost of $490? Read more...

Children's Sunday

For many churches, this Sunday is a day set aside to honor children's workers and emphasize children's ministry. Although March 4 is the suggested date, a church can choose a Sunday that best fits its schedule.

CE National has materials available to help churches plan a Children's Sunday.

Here are a few resource ideas for how you can build friendship with people who need to hear what you can share about Christ. Read more...

'Follow the Leader'

TK and Dana Speak At Lititz Winter Youth Retreat

"Follow the Leader" is a well-known children's game, but it is a much better theme for a Winter Youth Retreat! TK and Dana Kurtaneck were the guest speakers at Camp Joy El for the Grace Church winter youth retreat this past weekend. The 125 teens and adult leaders left Lititz, Pennsylvania, in the late afternoon on Friday and arrived at the camp in time for games, snacks, and the first general session of the weekend that focused on why Jesus is the One we should follow with our lives.
