The 412 Commission In Mexico

The 412 Commission

As snow fell early Thursday (January 25) morning in Akron, Ohio, the 412 Commission boarded an airplane headed for Mexico City, the second largest city in the world. The team arrived in warm, sunny Mexico late on Thursday afternoon, where they met up with Jay Bell from Grace Brethren International Missions (GBIM) and several missionaries who have spent years in the city. That evening we relaxed and enjoyed authentic Mexican food. Read more...

412, Mixing It Up With the Mexico City Grace Brethren Church

Ed Lewis Looks At Urban Children's Ministries

Ed, Executive Director of CE National, traveled with the 412 Commission to New York City. Here are his observations:

Recently I had the opportunity of traveling with the 412 group when we visited Metro Ministries in New York City. Bill Wilson is leading that group, and as a result of their ministries in Brooklyn, they reach over 20,000 every year through a ministry of Sidewalk Sunday School. It was a great experience, once again, to ride the buses, to pick up the kids, and to see how God is transforming the lives of children through an unbelievable inner-city ministry. Read more...

Change in Scholarships Given During Momentum

Each year, since the mid-1990's, Grace College has worked with CE National to assist Grace Brethren students who are planning on attending Grace College. Previously, pastoral staff members recommended high school students pursuing full-time vocational ministry (as evidenced by their choosing to major in Biblical Studies or Youth Ministry) for these scholarships and personal interviews were conducted at Momentum (formerly BNYC).

Grace College is re-addressing these scholarships and redirecting these resources for use in the recruitment of all Fellowship of Grace Brethren Church students.

Current scholarship offers from Grace College for Operation Barnabas alumni, as well as 412 Commission participants, will continue as in past years, with consideration being given for additional scholarship money.

CE Hmmm... Super Bowl Coaches Profess Christ-- Edited By Andy Wirt

I'm looking forward to watching Super Bowl 41 even more than other years. Maybe you've heard--but I just learned for the first time that both the coach of the Indianapolis Colts, Tony Dungy, and the Chicago Bears, Lovie Smith, profess a personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior. This could be an interesting conversation starter at your Super Bowl outreach party or special event.
