2 Days Away were held last week for those North of 55 |

|
The Day Away in Rhodes Grove, Pennsylvania, near Hagerstown, featured Dr. John Whitcomb, who spoke on the Genesis Flood and how we can know that the creation story is real. Many people commented about Dr. Whitcomb, saying, “I could have listened to Dr. Whitcomb for four hours,” and “What a tremendous communicator.” Dr. Whitcomb also served as a “Bible Answer Man” and answered people’s questions from the audience. The day also included an excellent lunch, a challenge by Ed Lewis, a comedy team, testimonies, hymns, and lots and lots of good fellowship. Read more...
Other Days Away are planned throughout the Eastern United States. |
Momentum Asks For Sacrifice |

|
This year Momentum will take place in Hattiesburg at the University of Southern Mississippi. For most people, it's going to be a really long bus ride. It costs way more to get to Mississippi than Ohio! The nearest airport is so small you can look through the luggage carousel and see the guy unloading the plane. We are planning to send work teams out every afternoon, but they have to ride an hour or so in a bus to get to the work sites. And did you think last year was hot and humid? You “ain’t seen nothin’ yet!” Why did we pick such an inconvenient, out-of-the-way, hot, miserable-in-the-summer place? Because that’s were the needs are.
Like so many other churches and faith-based groups, Momentum feels compelled to reach out to those who have been left homeless, jobless, and hopeless by Hurricane Katrina. It sounds a lot like Matthew 25. Serving often involves that kind of sacrifice. Read more...
