Bible 100 Challenge
Scripture memorization is important for every believer. For young people there is a program called Bible Quizzing. If your church does not have a quiz team and you would like to know how to start one, please go to the Bible Quizzing page. The Bible quiz cycle for 2008-2009 is John 13-21 and Acts 1-11.
A new program for 2008-2009 for people of any age is the Here is material that we hope will encourage you to memorize 100 Scriptures over the next year. We have put together a list of verses in brochure format that will help you and your church learn answers to questions that come up in the Christian walk. There are also helps included in a brochure that will aid people in scripture memory. These brochures are free for the asking.
We have also put together booklets that have the NIV scriptures printed out to put these verse at the fingertips of those who want to memorize. These booklets are availabe at a minimal charge of $1 per booklet. Or print a copy of the verses here.
We are keenly aware that today's average church attendee is lacking in the area of Biblical literacy. This comes from shifts in lifestyle, changes in the way we "do" church and even in the current discipleship trends; all these things being good in themselves but they may not foster Biblical literacy. We hope that this challenge to memorize 2 passages a week in a year will give people the "taste" for God's Word that will grow into a deep love relationship with the Bible and Christ.
For anyone who will do this one-year program, CE National will give them a certificate suitable for framing. For any young person (grades 7-post high (25 years old)) who does this and comes to Momentum youth conference, we will give them both a certificate and a new study Bible.
How Does It Work?
Next spring we will send to the churches a memo to be sure that an "accountability partner" has heard these verses and that they have been memorized. Your pastor will merely let CE National know the names of the ones who have completed this challenge.
We look forward to you and your church joining us in the "Bible 100 Challenge".
